Local Racewalk News
Come to the Philadelphia Distance Classic track meet for a 1 mile un-
judged racewalk on April 5, 2008. It will be held at the Germantown
Friends School. For details, go to www.gopacsports.com
Congratulations to Diana Rado, who was named 2007 USATF Mid-
Atlantic Racewalker of the Year at the annual awards luncheon on
January 26, 2008. A member of SEPAC, Diana has been racewalking
for a year and a half, coached by Ed Richardson.
Jack Starr of PHAST was inducted into the National USATF Masters
Hall of Fame at the annual USATF Awards Luncheon on Saturday,
January 21, 2007. One of only eight athletes in the class of 2006,
Jack was recognized for his achievements in racewalking. He also
took home the Frank Percival Award for Outstanding Athlete of the
Year for the Mid-Atlantic USATF Association. Congratulations, Jack!
The only other racewalker to receive an award for 2006 in MAUSATF
was Kermit McCrae of Bethany Baptist. Kermit took home a plaque
for Boy's Racewalk, Bantam division (ages 9-10). Great job, Kermit!
